Request for Suggestions on Port Configuration for Device Onboarding in SolarWinds

I hope you're all doing well.

I am reaching out to seek some suggestions regarding the port configuration for different devices before onboarding them into SolarWinds. Below are a few points I’d like to clarify as part of the onboarding process:

Onboarding a Firewall/Router using SNMP V3:
What ports need to be opened, and in which direction (inbound/outbound)? Please add any other relevant suggestions.
Onboarding a Windows Server using WMI:
What ports need to be opened, and in which direction (inbound/outbound)? Please add any other relevant suggestions.
Onboarding a Linux/Windows Server using an Agent:
What ports need to be opened, and in which direction (inbound/outbound)? Please add any other relevant suggestions.

Previously, I have used the following URL to check and confirm the necessary ports, but it is a bit time-consuming due to the large number of ports listed. As a result, I am facing some difficulties memorizing all of them. Hence, I am seeking suggestions on the most efficient way to handle this process.

Good day!

I agree its a bit consuming. But, it does not limit to which port needs to open. You also need to understand what modules do have and what needs to monitor. Who will be monitoring what.

You might not need to open agent ports if your requirement might suffice with the basic ports of snmp and wmi. You might also utilized specific product default integration for cisco,f5,meraki and the likes.
