Polling server NIC disappeared

I manage a Solarwinds installation (2024.1) configured with one MPE and several APEs.

Over the weekend the NIC in one of the APEs went from green to undefined (white circle).

I deleted the NIC and attempted to rediscover. The NIC did not come back. Verified that the NIC appears under node details >> Asset Inventory and >> Hardware configuration.

Also moved the polling server to be 'polled' by a different polling server.

None of these have caused the NIC to become available.

One reason this is especially painful - server is part of an HA Pool. The Pool now shows as Disabled. If I try to Enable the pool it then goes back to Disabled.

Additional information: all polling servers use Agent for communication.

Another team member worked through a similar issue a few years ago. Something about going into the database >> Node table, deleting the NIC entry, after that re-discover the node.

I didn't work on this myself, so not sure about the details.

I welcome any input from the community, especially any information about potential fix action for the issue of the missing NIC.
