I have a package in which the first task is to obtain a password for use by a project level SFTP connection manager.
It doesn't work as I get authentication errors.
If I use a package connection manager, it works fine.
Should I be able to do this?
HI Ira, can you share the error message and details, include product version number? Without a description of the error you're getting, it's virtually impossible to troubleshoot. The SFTP error described in this post is a good example.
If the error says something like [ExecuteTask Failed:] Information: Could not authenticate user [Username] and you're using an older version of Visual Studio, then I suggest you check out this KB article, https://solarwindscore.my.site.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Task-Factory-SFTP-Task-Could-Not-Authenticate?language=en_US.
P.S. If this problem persists, you might want to have the task generate a log to help identify where the issue is occurring. This and few other SFTP errors are mentioned at https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/taskfactory/content/troubleshooting/common-errors.htm.
There is no error message.
I can't figure out whether or not it is possible to supply metadata when uploading a document. I can't see any place in the task editor to specify metadata, but the concept of metadata in document libraries is so fundamental that I can't believe it isn't part of the task.
So I am asking if it is possible and I am being blind or whether it is not possible and the task is not helpful.
Sorry, my first reply pertains to a different question!
There is no error message. The expressions editor does not allow use of user variables when creating expressions for a project-level connection manager.
Therefore I conclude that it is not possible. If anyone knows otherwise, I would love to know.................
