Main Page Summary Dashboard - Event Viewer Messages

Hi ,

I have dashboard of type 'Summary'.

I have enabled the component as 'Real-Time Event Log Viewer'.

And I want to add the Widget containing information \ messages from Event Viewer from monitored servers, filtered only to show Error and Warn.

But I don't know what widget to use and by what sequence? If it is SWQL - what query to use?

Could you advice?

The real-time event log viewer shows the eventlog info when you open that function. It is not stored in the database so you can't create a widget showing that.

What you can do is use as an event log component. Assign that one to the servers you are after, configuring it to save errors and warnings. Then you can create a SWQL from the table

Orion.APM.WindowsEvent.

Thanks a lot for reply.

I want to add Windows Event messages to SW dashboard.

I have checked Orion.APM.WindowsEvent - most of messages from Application logfile, but System logfile has only 2 records. Why is that don't you know?

SW does not write/tracks Systems messages? Because for me that (SYSTEM) is more important? Don't you know how to configure it?
It would be helpful for me.

But 'Security' and 'Application' has a lot of messages, except System, which is needed.

Do you want to display all system event messages for all nodes?

By default SolarWinds does not collect that. What you can do is set up Windows event collection in LA. Then all even logs will be available. See here for more info: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/la/content/lm/lm-set-up-windows-event-collection.htm
