Real Time Monitoring of the Nodes and Interface

I am working on a security systems project and client is expecting to having Nodes and Interfaces status on Real time i.e., within 1-2 seconds.

Default polling interval is shown as 120 seconds, can we change this to 1-2 seconds? If we change the default polling time will we get SNMP traps information immediately on the dashboard?

What benefits is the customer expecting from a 1-2 second polling and from the real time polling?

The shortest polling interval is 10 or 15 seconds, with the exception of ad-hoc Real time polling on demand in a browser.

Who will be managing/Responding to the alerts this 1-2 second polling is generating?

how long is the customer expecting that the information of those polling intervals is stored?

is the customer willing to invest heavily into Hardware and storage to meet the demand that this requirement will have?

So the alert response will be conducted by a human being?

I don’t see any need for a polling frequency of less than 60 seconds if a human is in the equation.

Especially when the human is looking at a screen. You can not refresh the screen every second …

a human interaction always takes time, a minute more or less should not affect the overall duration that much.

if you go down to 10/15 seconds for the polling, you are essentially creating a 6 data-entries per entity per minute. Depending on your numbers of entities this can mean a lot of data.
will the system be installed with High Availability? SQL Cluster? SolarWinds HA? additional Webservers?

No High availability is required and no clustering and additional web servers
