Interface Analysis

Greetings All,

I am new to Solar winds technologies. My technical requirement is to capture and catalog all the interfaces running on 2-3 or more servers. There are many custom applications running on each of these servers and my client has not cataloged their interfaces accurately. Can somebody please help me with some pointers or send me any relevant links to artifacts.

Have you done a network discovery? https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/core-network-discovery-using-the-network-sonar-wizard-sw1574.htm That's usually the first step, and you can have it run on a schedule to help pick up new devices and interfaces as they come online.

My challenge is that I can only operate from Hypervisor up not at the device level.

Assuming you have VMAN (either as part of Observability Advanced or standalone) add your host.

Add a vCenter, Hyper-V host, standalone ESX host, or Nutanix cluster for monitoring in VMAN

Does the tool support identifying dependencies or connections between applications running on virtual machines, or is it limited to infrastructure-level insights?
