Where does the Compare Configs list come from?

I have a question about the Compare Configs widget that you see on the Node Details-->Configs view. What determines the maximum number of Configs that can be displayed in the drop menus of the widget? Is that based on the Purge Configs job settings or the Database and Archive Maintenance job settings?

The reason I ask is that I can see more configs in the Config Archive folder than I can display in the drop menu. In other words, I can see an archive folder for August 19, but I can only get the drop menu to go back as far as Oct.10 regardless of how many items I set the drop menu to display.

What am I not getting here?

Config compare drop-down just lists all device configurations managed by NCM at that moment (configs stored in database).
It is the same number of configs as you see on config list resource.

Number of configs managed by NCM is controlled by the Purge Configs job. By default it keep last 30 configs per device.

Number of config copies stored on file system in Config Archive folder is just copy of config files and are not counted on NCM UI since NCM works only with the configs stored in database.
Treat these copies as additional backup of config files on file system.

Purge of Config Archive is controlled by Database and Archive Maintenance job.
By default it delete files older than 2 years.

So, are you telling me that The Config Archive keeps configs no older than 2 years, but no more than 30 configs per device (or whatever that number may be set to?) IS that correct?

You can set how many config compares you can see by clicking the Edit button on the widget. But it will only go back as far as the number that are stored in the database which is set by the purge job (I have mine set to 6 months)

The folder will store configs in there for 2 years as mentioned and that gets cleaned up by the database and maintenance job.
