Have been working with support to resolve this issue, but thought I would also reach out here to see if anyone has either experienced this issue or has ideas.
I am attempting to install a new additional polling engine across an Azure tenant between two vhubs. However, when running the platform setup at the server connect phase, the installer halts with "The communication to the main polling engine server failed. Could not download product information.". All the required ports from SW documentation for both the installation and daily operation are open as required. As well it is possible to ping between the MPE and the NewCo APE. Looking at the image below, this is shown in the red connection path.
In the install log we see this: System.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed.
However, the NewCo APE can ping the MPE by fqdn.
Since we needed some monitoring, I have pivoted, and used a pre-existing poller, APE2 (Azure) to monitor servers in NewCo, and have been able to do so successfully (this path is depicted in green). As well, I can monitor the NewCo APE from APE2, using the SW agent. So my thoughts are that communication is functional, or am I missing something?
Why not use APE2 to do the monitoring you say? Yes, we can, however there are egress costs for doing so and therefore we want to prevent unnecessary costs where possible.

Thank you in advance.
