How to change default poll status before agent installation?

Hi 

We deploy Solarwinds agent with gold master image on nodes. 

The default  "poll status" behaviour of a node after installation is "Status of node Status of agent".

How can I change *prior* to the installation that the The default  "poll status" would be ICMP?

Hey,

I think that is not possible. But what you can do is change the Poller from ICMP to Agent once they became nodes.

If you want to try it using SQL you can use this report as a base: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/content-exchange/the-solarwinds-platform/m/custom-queries/3467  It would also help you to identify those nodes with Agent as Status Poller Method.

In the Post they are using SWQL but you can change it to SQL for those entities just removing the "Orion.". The result would be something like this:

SELECT
PollerType
, NetObjectID
, *
FROM Pollers
WHERE PollerType LIKE '%status%'
-- AND Enabled = 'True'
AND PollerType LIKE 'N.%'
AND NetObjectID = @NodeID

Of course, you should modify it to retrieve data with more specific criteria.
