How can I perform bulk update of WMI Polling Service Account to the new account?

My existing service account for the WMI Polling keeps on locking out hence I have created a new one and tested the WMI polling successfully.

How can I perform a bulk update of WMI Polling Service Account to the new account as I have 1000+ nodes assigned to my existing old service account that cannot poll properly now?

The easiest way is using the GUI using the Manage Nodes Page. You can select up to 100 nodes at the top of the screen and then do Edit node (all selected need to be WMI, you can't mix and match) then select the new WMI credentials and then apply the change. Adding 100 at a time works ok in my environment, if trying select all and its more than a couple hundred the process doesn't work as well.

@bobmarley is spot on for easiest method. If you have SAM monitors where a WMI account is specified, then you would need to update those instances separately. It can still be done via the gui, but the SAM admin pages to update them. If your SAM monitors are defaulting to the node credential- they will be updated when you switch the wmi account in node management.

Yes, I can now see the option to change but in 50 selections at a time, not all of them at the same time?

We have 1100+ nodes so it will be a challenge paging through 50 accounts at a time.
