Linking widgets together in modern Dashboards

Hi Guys,

I am looking to link the widgets together in modern dashboards. For example while clicking on the group in groups widget and relevant other widgets needs to show only specific data related to that group (i.e alerts on group,down interfaces in group etc..).could you please share the SWQL if you have or the reference widgets.

The trick with Global Filters and SWQL is you have to JOIN in the Custom Properties tables into your query. You do not need to reference then in SELECT.

Here is an example for a Node Entity and joining in the Custom Property table. Line #3 being the most important part.

SELECT Caption,ObjectSubType,IPAddress,Vendor,StatusDescription
FROM Orion.Nodes nodes
JOIN Orion.NodesCustomProperties cp ON cp.NodeID = nodes.NodeID

If you update your SWQL Queries accordingly, then Global Filters will work.

I have considered something like this, but haven't done it yet.

The way I was guessing to do it:

Create a custom query widget for the groups with an additional field that's a URL back to the same modern dashboard but using a global filter:

bah! I just tried and the global filter thing didn't have any effect. I'll keep playing with it.

Right there at the top of the document explained my issue. Seems global filters don't work on custom swql ... which is ALL of my widgets.

yes,global filters are not working I have also tried that not sure how to make those dashboard widgets more interactive.
