Odd Alert Issue - Email for alert went out but there was no issue

This one is interesting -

We have an monitor setup on our ServiceNow login page to check if it goes down.

Our ServiceNow team reached out and said the alert fired off on 9/22 at 9:10 PM.

Alert cleared on 9/23 at 4:48AM.

If I go and check the ServiceNow monitor - it shows green and that it never went down.

If I check the ServiceNow alert - it said it has not fired off since last month

I checked both polling engines for anything odd on 9/22 around 9PM and polling engines look fine.

I am trying to figure out how or why this fired off. Looking for suggestions because this one has me a bit puzzled.

The why is probably related to ServiceNow SSL issue during that time. No clue why you don't see it on the alert history.

Interesting. I wonder why the ServiceNow team did not let me know that bit of information.

I opened up SWQL and ran a query for alerts and it did register here but nothing kicked off in the Application Monitor and everything looks up and happy.

Try testing the ServiceNow integration. Ours has been failing since yesterday with SSL errors. SNOW support says it is a problem with the SolarWinds integration (ServiceNow Store - SolarWinds Alert Integration) and that SolarWinds may have hard coded the certificate when developing that integration. We have a ticket with SolarWinds support open now.
