Solarwinds 2024.2.1 - Any major bugs?

Hello everyone. Just curious if anyone would be willing to share their experience upgrading to 2024.2.1, and if they experienced any issues? We are looking to upgrade from 2020.2.6 to 2024.2.1 soon, and just want to get ahead of any potential issues. I'm newer here, and didn't see any sort of rating system for these versions as I've seen with other products. If there is something of that sort, feel free to nudge me that way.

Backing up your Orion server and database always highly recommended in case you need to roll back.

A majority of customers have already moved off the Orion platform (2020.2.6 and older), so likely your upgrade will be smooth, and if you have any issues, support has seen them before and knows how to fix quickly.

Q: Why haven't you upgraded before now?

At first everything seemed ok with the upgrade to 2024.2.1. We have noticed the node management page won't load when trying to add nodes. We have to reboot the main poller. I started looking if there was a new release, and there is a Release candidate - 2024.4. I started looking through the release notes and they indicate they resolve a problem with DB maintenance failing due to deadlocks in - Wireless_Nodes_DeleteOrphans stored procedure. Low and behold I looked and our DB maintenance is failing there. What really concerns me is the fix is in a release candidate and not a full release. I'm opening a support case but we are not going to upgrade to a RC. We have a 2nd silo and I'm not going to upgrade until we sort out this problem and until there is a release standard release. I cannot say the node management issue is related to 2024.2.1 but the database maintenance issue is documented in the 2024.4 release notes.

Sure, I assume you are with support. This case is directly related to the DB maintenance issue - case # 01760181. The 2nd case I opened I have not correlated with 2024.2.1 but we did not start seeing this until we upgraded which is case # 01759940. I have escalated case # 01759940. My contact information is in the case # so I'm happy to discuss this further.

2024.2.1 seems pretty good so far
LOADS of stuff changes between those versions, you will 100% have followup to do somewhere

Thanks. The database maintenance issue a documented case. The issue where the node management page does not load may be environmental so I'm waiting to hear back from support.
