Can I set up alert to notify me when IIS Service goes down within 1 minute

I am looking for a way to be notified when service goes down within 1 minute. I have setup alerts, and they are working properly, but are taking between 3 and 5 minutes to be received by both text and email and I need to be notified quicker than that.

You probably want to use an event-based solution for <1min

Send alive events and dead events from the service, if dead then bad, if no alive then bad but with less certainty

Alternately you'd want to set polling to 1 min from multiple places, and the alert to be checked every 1 min or less if it lets you. Max would be 2 mins but much more likely to be fairly instant

Given the various timing schedules it is really hard to actually get a notification out in under a minute.

Without getting into some clunky work arounds and hacky solutions you are working with:

Minimum SAM template polling interval is 60 seconds.
Minimum Alert trigger check is 15 seconds.
Processing time to actually get a message through your email/sms providers is outside our control, but this is often up to a minute by itself.

In cases where I consider it to be critical to have as fast a response as possible I usually script something that runs directly on the server as a heartbeat and if there is a failure it automatically attempts to resolve the issue by bouncing the relevant services or whatever steps we need to go through. The monitoring tool is more of a secondary backup for things like this, and I'll usually set up a component monitor that checks a log file to assess how things have been going with the script to know it it was firing and if it was successful in getting things back up or not and if we need to get humans involved.
