Alerts for low disk space not showing in "All Alerts this Object can trigger) widget for all Server

Hi,

I created an alert for low disk space for all server. Only a few of them is working as expected (windows and Linux). So I know the alerts is configure ok.

All fixed disk (volume) are checked in the ressource.

I've expected, if enable, to see them in the All Alerts this Object can trigger) widget for all Node. Only a few of them appear the alert appeared

Did some research, old post, did not find anything
No solution...

That title shows 15 alerts. Have you been able to display all the alerts? Hoping this is just a display issue.

Check the settings on the widget, just in case it is set to only display 4 alerts.

When you say it's only working for some devices do you mean whatever alert (email, sound, etc) you are expecting is not firing?

That widget is frequently incorrect, i never trust it with any of my clients and generally just remove it because I can't let them look at misleading/wrong information.

The "all alerts this object.." widget cares about the Scope, not the Trigger. Ie, the bit above
you should put "fixed disk" in the scope to not get weird results

Stuff without scopes will interact poorly with the widget
Broken alerts will break the widget to some extent, though it'll try anyway and may still pull results

VolumeTypeID = 4 was it for me, because "Eingebauter Datenträger" OR "fixed disk" was too much for my german SWI installation -- Always aim for IDs not for 'labels"

Exact, the widget is wrong...did a test and received the alert.

oh - so your alert is working fine, it's just not showing in the widget?

my disk alerts don't show in that widget, I'm assuming it's because they are volume based alerts and not node based alerts?

I saw great replies to your query. I would like to add two additional points.

First, I highly recommend including filters for objects in "The scope of alert" and not "the actual trigger condition". That should make alerts a bit faster.

Second, I recommend including both "Fixed Disk" and "FixedDisk". Some nodes will have volume type without the space.

Like this:

As an example, below Windows Server is reporting volume C as "FixedDisk". Why? That's a good question

Conversation was interesting.

Every things fine....may just one server mist the alert..I gonna investigate more..
the widget was very confusing....as like the alerte was not attach or something like that

I did some test...and as long the alert is firing....then the alert will apear breafly in the widget...weird comportement
I ajust also the scope as jusgested.

What you see is by design and let me explain why you do not see volume alerts?

Basically: The widget of "All Alerts this Object can trigger" applies to alerts that are created at node level. When you have to create an alert for volume you select the drop down and select the Volume object. This is why the widget which is tied to Node summary page only will show Node based alert.

If you click on any of the volume and go the resulting volume page and if you have the widget of "All Alerts this Object can trigger" you will definitely see the volume based alert on that page.
