Where are all the places to reset a service account in SAM that affects WMI monitoring?
Are you talking about updating a password? If SAM, all passwords are stored in Settings > All Settings > SAM Settings > Credential Library. Any Application Template that references a SAM credential will see the change once updated. There are Node based credentials that can also be references in SAM (Inherit from Node) that are found in Settings > All Settings > Manage Windows Credentials
Service Account password reset for Windows WMI monitoring? read more here. This is a duplicate post.
We were instructed to update our service account for windows WMI. All of the windows servers etc. We update the password in the "Credential Library". What else is needing to be done?
@chad.every Will all the node devices see the change? I have been told that the person here had to access each system for this change? Is that not true?
I've never seen that before. Credentials for Node/Application polling are centralized in the two locations I mentioned above. There are credential libraries located elsewhere in the product, but they serve for specific functions/features that fall outside of what you're describing.
How to confirm that one node is using the new password?
@chad.every from my understanding they were asked to change the password for the service account and update it on Solarwinds, as per the duplicate post I have advised how to do that, however the penny hasn't dropped.
