Report PDF sent via email showing blank page or broken images

We have been seeing an issue with PDF copies of reports sent via email resulting in broken images or just being entirely blank. However, if you choose to save the PDF to disk, the report saves normally. We have taken a number of troubleshooting steps, none of which have made any changes in the behavior.

Troubleshooting steps taken:

Export charts as image in PDF - Disabled

Disable/Re-enabled Microsoft PDF Printer

At the suggestion of SolarWinds support, run through this KB article

All other file formats work normally, and saving the PDF to disk works, but emailing the PDF results in reports similar to this

Anyone seen anything like this before?

I was able to fix this by changing the SMTP Client from the default MailBee to "Native". I did have a support case open but they weren't able to tell me much about why this happened or why changing the SMTP client fixed it for us.

Don't suppose you found a resolution for this issue? Did you perhaps log a support case? We are seeing a blank emailed PDF report and unsure how to fix it at the moment, will revert if we get it fixed.

This issue is a faff at all levels because security settings get involved and they can differ

I went through a bunch of troubleshooting for this myself, but also gave up at least once

I think the 1st-party solution needs some work nowadays

The account used to run the report makes a big difference

thanks Adam, the account sending the email has the highest level of admin on SW. I'll need to play around with it some more.

If all else fails we will try that, the thing is only one report is showing up as blank so its a bit of a strange one.

If we are choosing native then it will ask for HostName or IP. How to get that...need to .create another SMTP server?
