Node Status Showing in Orion Network Atlas but Not In SolarWinds Map

I use Orion Network Atlas to map our nodes. This has always worked and the Map is then added to my Menu Bar on the left side of Solarwinds Orion.

Recently, when I create a new node and add it to Orion Network Atlas, it show the node and its status normally, but when I save the map and refresh Solarwinds Orion, the node is grey and is not recognized. This has happened with all nodes added in the last 2 months I would say.

Does anyone have any advice on why this would be happening and how to resolve it? Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you all for your replies. We had a pending Orion update which we applied and that resolved the issue.

Feels like a "rerun config wizard" but before that i'd just check you actually have data on the CPU chart or simmilar for one of the newer nodes

There is data when you go into the node, it’s just not showing on the map in Solarwinds. Only in Network Atlas.

Do you have Additional Web Servers in your environment ? And do you access your SolarWinds page using the same ? I had similar issue in the past with groups and it seemed like the issue was with Additional Web Server and not SolarWinds.

If you have AWS then try restarting services, best case would be to reboot if possible and check if that would fix your issue.

If you aren't using Additional Web Servers in that case ignore my comments on the same. Hope this helps.

@pjd1213 Did the update to SolarWinds Platform 2024.2 resolve the issue? We have updated our 2024.2 release notes to ensure this is properly documented as a "fixed issue".

When a node is added to an existing Network Atlas map that is already displayed, the node's status is shown correctly instead of always being shown as Unknown.

@Kita Yes, the update to 2024.2 resolved our issue with new nodes showing as unknown on the map view in Solarwinds when added to an existing Network Atlas map.

Note - there is a migration tool available in 2024.2 to move your Network Atlas maps to Intelligent maps. This covers most use cases, but we recommend giving it a try and let us know of any issues you find, we plan to continue to improve it in the next release.

We finally upgraded one of our environments to allow me to try this import and I have to say "kudos for getting something out there", but it just doesn't work.

Here's one we recently imported:

The Node names just appear at random locations and frequently they are beneath the node icon.

The names are not connected to the node and need to be deleted and then you have to physically type in {{{displayName}}} or type in the node name which sort of defeats an import process.

I've no idea what the lines are doing.
