Custom Poller average values and alerting

Hi,

Is there anyway you can get the average value of a custom poller which produces a numeric value then create an alert if the value goes up by a certain percentage above the average? To give context I've added a custom poller that shows the number of active sessions on a Fortigate Firewall but want to be alerted if that value goes up by 50% of the average value. I can create an alert to fire if the value if above a defined number but this isn't practical as the number of sessions widely varies throughout our Firewall estate depending on the site.

Hi, it's possible but not easy. Done almost similar before. Then we did it with SQL query.

One query to calculate the average value, another to compare current value with average. Combine with a CTE that you join in with the required part of the SQL query.

So, how should the average be calculated? Last x hours? Last x weekdays with same weekday as today?

I thought that may be the case, I was thinking last 4 hours would suffice thanks
