Mismatch in Data utilization --Interface

Hi Team,

In our environment, we are using NPM and NTA and have a few MPLS and Internet leased lines. However, according to the service provider, we are experiencing full utilization whether it's a 170 Mbps or 1 Gbps link.

Contrary to the service provider's claim, the SolarWinds report indicates that we are not utilizing even half of the capacity we have provisioned for specific MPLS or ILL.

This discrepancy is making it difficult for us to plan for any upgrades or downgrades related to the MPLS or ILL.

I would appreciate any help in identifying the root cause of this issue and finding a solution.

I would imagine the service provider is using something like 95th percentile. Have you set the interface speed to match your allocated bandwidth? Have you run the 95th percentile report?

Yes, I have checked the 95th percentile report for the specific interface usage from April 1st to April 30th, 2024. Please refer to the snapshot below for your reference.

Is it possible to generate a report that displays utilization in a graph, similar to the one shown by the service provider in the screenshot above? Alternatively, is there another way to track day-to-day or weekly interface utilization? This can help the organization predict future utilization and save costs.
