How to create an alert when automatic services of a server goes down using SAM.

Ive been given the task to find a way to get alerts of automatic services that go down on a particular server using SAM.

We would like to use this particularly for our patch nights. We used eventsentry which provides us a dashboard like interface but since we are already heavily invested with Solarwinds and SAM we would really like to accomplish this withink the solarwinds platform.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are two steps: the first is to create an application monitor that will watch the services that you want to monitor, and the second is to create an alert that will trigger when a status change occurs for the application monitor. The documentation is excellent, and these links will get you started.
