Greetings All.
In my shop we use a lot of script monitors including Bash, Powershell, HTTP. These script monitors capture data that then gets displayed in Application-specific dashboards.
If I understand correctly the most recent data from script monitors (message and statistic) gets stored in APM.DynamicEvidenceCurrent.
Historical data, however, gets stored in APM.DynamicEvidence. Note that...
- historical Message (string) data retention was removed in Solarwinds 2023.x (see this thread for the full(er) story: Dynamic Evidence table - StringData field now empty )
- the APM.DynamicEvidence table has been marked as depreciated, although historical Statistic data retention still works.
A few weeks ago we upgraded Solarwinds from 2023.x to 2024.1.
It seems like after the upgrade the widgets that pull data from APM.DynamicEvidence load more slowly, like a lot more slowly.
This leads to a couple of questions:
- were indexes removed from APM.DynamicEvidence as part of the 2024.1 upgrade?
- what is the plan go-forward for storing historical Statistic and (hopefully) Message data. Perhaps in a different table?
I welcome any input from the community. Thanks.
