How to monitor hardware status for Fortinet Firewall FortiGate

I can monitor hardware for other devices like my cisco switches and routers. However, I can't monitor like the PSU, Fans and etc. of my Fortinet Firewall. Does anyone have any idea or encountered this issue before if so how did you guys resolve it.

The only current way to do hardware health monitoring of nodes that Solarwinds haven't brought into default support is via UnDPs.

There is a feature request here: thwack.solarwinds.com/.../fortigate-hardware-health-support so feel free to up vote it and hopefully one day it will get added. Also, check on the Fortinet site as not every Forti has an IPMI sensor, but if your ones do then the OIDs you need to start building the UnDPs are also listed. community.fortinet.com/.../200666

Yep we setup custom pollers for the things we wanted monitored then setup modules like these to display the info and then also setup alerting for the various failure values the OIDs return. Its a bit of effort but doable. We had this with Ciena devices which also have no built in support.
