NCM licencing

We are just testing NCM for one of our customers and were told the licencing is per node, so it uses 1 licence per network switch to include all part of that switch including interfaces. Now we have it configured and have added a couple of test switches, we have now maxed out the NPM licence we have as the interfaces have all gone against this licence. Is this how it works or have we possibly configured something incorrectly?

NCM is managing the node not the interfaces its NPM and that has a interface licence limit and this is what you are hitting. You will have to be specific on the ports you are monitoring or increase the NPM License.

Thanks, I've read those, but that doesn't answer my question. I was told that the NCM licence covers all aspects of the switch including interfaces, but now we are trying it looks like interfaces are covered under NPM licence. I need to confirm which is correct as if we are having to use NPM licence, we will need thousands more interfaces for all the switches we need to monitor, but if they are under NCM licence as part of each node, we don't. Does it specifically mention this anywhere in the licencing. I did find a previous comment (from 12 years ago) that also mentioned that interfaces were covered by NCM, but as this was so old I thought I'd check as it may have changed.
