Is there a way to bring in to a Custom View an HTML that displays the site portal.office.com?

I want to show 3 outside url's of which one is https://portal.office.com/ServiceStatus/

I have tried and can get it to go as a custom user link or User Link but I cannot get even a single html to work.

I get a message of "Failed to Connect" in the Custom Page/View

Is there a limitation or doesn't it support https:// ?

I have three outside OUTSIDE websites that I wish to display on one screen/view

Read up on this thread, (+) Custom HTML Widget (NOT WORKING)?? - Forum - Network Performance Monitor (NPM) - THWACK (solarwinds.com) there is a setting you need to understand concerning a security risk and a setting to enable to allow the feature to work.

I have already set the security setting to allow for Custom HTML to work with any site.

The results are the same. Going to this site on the same server with the same MS Edge browser allows me to see the site. SW HCO Custom HTML does not.

I have only been successful in doing this inside of an IFRAME. This may get you started.

If it an external site it probably will not work Google this and "encapsulating an external site within an iframe" read the Stack Overflow article about sites refusing Iframes.

It does exactly the same thing. The message is "portal.office.com refused to connect" with a picture of a sheet of paper bent at one corner and a circle with a line through it.

Is there a restriction in the software (SW) that does not allow "HTTPS" URL's?

This has been done in MS EDGE and works just fine on the same server.

What is the HCO dashboard sending?

The answer to this as posed is "iFrames!"
The problem is iframes are no longer acceptable in most places

how does one get an outside URL to populate in a custom Link in a widget?

If one cannot use IFRAMES, how does one use Custom HTML?

I really do not want to use User LInks. I want this to come right up in a "view".

You can read the info off the service status API and feed that into solarwinds as an equivalent, but it's not easy
in the thread bobmarley linked there's a fix on the solarwinds side that may be relevant, but honestly most browers and sites are actively trying to block it at the moment so you're probably fighting a losing battle.

There are definitely alternative systems which rotate between different websites. It's probably possible to code one up in a few dozen lines come to think of it

If you're in a larger company, this is a problem that your web dev team will know all about, and it's a problem that lives between them and the security guys

The solarwinds answer is like "Stick some HTML that works in a classic dashboard with NOC mode enabled, in a Custom HTML widget, add 2 tabs to the NOC View or 2 columns if the sites are all narrow" The problem remaining is a general HTML one.

I tried <iframe>, <embed> and one other for you without success. I do have a widget (modified from someone else's post on here) that uses <script> and some AJAX to pull in external content but it's not pulling a webpage as much as like bits of how one can construct a webpage

3 years ago it used to be almost literally <iframe>your stuff here</iframe>

(the reason this is getting turned off is people could do <iframe>your bank</iframe> fullscreen and then read your keypresses off to wipe people out

@highstone351 Maybe a couple more stupid solutions:
1) Use WPM to monitor the sites you care about, then build a solarwinds dash that recalls the last available screenshot per transaction
2) Same solution but with a scheduled task on the box that writes a screenshot to a directory that's servable from IIS on your web server

Thanks for the trouble and working on it! I also tried some of those to no avail.

Strange that one cannot just SEND the website and let the reply come back to the application (widget).
