LLDP For Windows Server

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how to enable LLDP on Windows Server/Window Devices? I was able to enable it on my Linux devices and able to see them in my topology but for Windows I am not able to find a way to enable them to see their neighboring devices.

On your Windows server

1. Open "Control Panel" from the Start menu.

2. Navigate to "Network and Sharing Center." [Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center]

3. On the left-hand side, click on "Change adapter settings."

4. You'll see a list of network adapters. Right-click on the network adapter for which you want to enable LLDP.

5. Select "Properties" from the context menu.

6. In the network adapter properties window, look for a tab or option related to "LLDP Protocol" or "Link Layer Discovery Protocol." This option may vary depending on your network adapter and the version of Windows Server you're using. It might also be located under "Advanced" or "Advanced Settings."

   

7. Once you find the LLDP option, check the box or enable the setting to turn on LLDP support.

8. Click "OK" or "Apply" to save the changes.

9. Close the network adapter properties window.

There's also a way to do this via PowerShell.

1. Open PowerShell with administrative privileges.

2. Use the following command to enable LLDP on a specific network interface:

   Set-NetAdapterAdvancedProperty -Name "YourNetworkInterfaceName" -DisplayName "LLDP" -DisplayValue "Enabled"

   Replace "YourNetworkInterfaceName" with the name of the network interface where you want to enable LLDP.

3. Verify that LLDP is enabled on the network interface by running:
