Wildcard in Alert Trigger Condition

Hi All,

A request for aid please from the awesome community.

Would setting a wildcard in the trigger condition of an alert e.g. as per screenshot 1 below work?

Screenshot 1:

The aim is to alert only if the Interface Name has any combination of CH-Number-Number-N e.g. it could be CH-1-2-N or CH-3-6-N etc. The part that changes is that in between the CH-%-N.

Using the wildcard it lists the interface names of interest in the drop-down (screenshot 2 below) so I'm assuming yes, but as we're unable to test this alert unless the issue actually occurs, hoping to confirm.

No, "is equal to" is functionally a sql = operator which does not allow wildcards.

I think you could do "contains" and achieve the results you are looking for there, or do something like starts with ch- and ends with -n

Ended up going with the ends with that works.
