Hello Team,
Very frequently we are getting Socket connection error in our environment.
Can someone help us with the solution on the same.
1. Do you have any reports that have huge number of rows ? This will be your starting point to check.
2. Or do you have any views/dashboards with bulk load of information in your environment.
3. When did the issue start ? If its a recent one, check for the above things.
I was facing this issue where I had created a massive report in my environment, that use to pull huge amount of information and was exposed to everyone who had reporting rights, so whenever someone runs the report or keep that page open, it would cause this issue, check internally if some new reports are created. Delete the report or reduce the content on it and if possible reboot your VM as well.
Hope it helps.
If this is in a report, then it's most likely the report is returning too many rows (as @vinay.by mentioned).
If this is on any page, then the SolarWinds Information Service (SWIS) isn't returning data fast enough. That normally boils down to two things:
The overall architecture (simplified) looks like this:
Web User --> SolarWinds Website --> IIS --> SolarWinds Information Service (SWIS) --> SQL Database
Pretty much anything except the Web User could be causing this.
Your best bet it to open a support case so they can look at the specifics of your environment.
Thanks Vinay for your input
We found that there are some heavy perfstacks in our environment which we need to cleanup.
we will try cleaning up those perfstacks.
Thanks @KMSigma.SWI for your input
1.yes we have users load in our environment and IIS process consumes around 1500mb-2000mb of memory utilization.
2. Can you please elaborate on the sql not backing up the platform. If there are any workarounds to verify these.
Without the site being accessible, you don't have an easy way to do this. The support team will have the tools necessary to tell what's what.
