WMI Polling stoped working

Hi together, 

in our SolarWinds Hybrid Cloud Observability, WMI polling stopped working without any change to the service user or infrastructure.

Using several different accounts that have admin access on the target vms did also nothing for us. We tried several fixes aswell as a total reboot of the complete environment. 

Testing the wmi connection with wbmtest.exe, etc. was also successful every time, but again when looking in some logs we found an access denied (even if the account used is the sysadmin local account). How can that be? 

And all the other polling methods work fine (agent, snmp)

Guess 1: your service account got expired/ocked/whatever, though ysadmin suggests not this
Guess 2: firewall change somewhere broke the port, presumably you'd mention it if this was the case
Guess 3: Scheduler fault. Jobengine service died or collector service died or jobs db for corrupted

Guess 4: ephemeral port exhaustion

Given the information above is correct, my money is on 4, then 3
