Hey Guys,
Im new to solarwinds and have been onboarding my network devices on NCM. I added a bunch of network routers and switches by IP address using Network Discovery. When i go to manage nodes and group by machine type, i see the network switches grouped - C9300, C38xx and i see the router grouped as ISR43xx.
We have firewalls (Cisco FTD) and some new routers like the Cisco 8200 and C8500, but these get grouped as Cisco only. So my question is - Is there a way to group these Cisco (unknown) routers and switches correctly ?
Is there a way to update the SNMP MIB's or the System OID's on NCM ?
I came across device templates but i checked and there are no templates on my NCM for Cisco ISE or for C9300, but these still get grouped correctly as Cisco ISE and C9300 switch.
Im trying to figure out if i can scan a IP subnet and if NCM can just pick up specific device types based on System OID and add them to NCM ???
