We need to increase the RAM of an Additional Polling Engine, the active PE is not touched only the Secondary/Standby server RAM is to be increased . Will it affect my SoalrWinds environment such as polling issue.
I don't completely understand your query.
1. Primary Poller is not touched good. Do you want to make the changes on your Standby Poller which is in High Availability mode with your Primary poller or do you want to make changes to your Additional Poller ?
2. If its a HA setup you will have Primary Poller paired with Standby Poller - stop the HA, make changes to your Standby Poller - reboot your Standby Poller once its up start the HA service.
3. If its Additional Poller that you are talking about does Additional Poller also have an HA ? If yes follow same steps as mentioned in point 2, if Additional Poller does not have an HA then the devices monitored on your Additional Poller needs to be moved onto a different Additional Poller or Primary Poller so that monitoring and alerting continues if you cannot have a downtime on your monitoring. If downtime is accepted and you are not bothered about the devices on that Additional Poller then its Business as usual, do the changes reboot the server and thats it done but yes this will affect polling and alerting if you are not moving the devices onto another poller. (make sure your SolarWinds services are up and running post reboot)
