In attempting to add Nodes, IP SLA Manager only sees our Cisco 3560 switches, even though we have over 100+ 37xx, 4xxx, and 650x switches, all in Orion? How do we get IP SLA Manager to recognize these other devices?
FYI: There is a very easy way to do them all at once (or at least large chunks at a time).
On the web page goto: Admin manage nodes in the group by select SNMP version - this will regroup them by their snmp version. select the ones that are a (1) click the box at the top - this should check all the nodes click edit click snmp set the version from v1 to v2
click submit It will show "processing" at the top and when done give you a report.
The first thing to check is make sure Orion NPM is monitoring these devices via SNMP v2 or v3
Jason,
Sometimes good news is a curse in disguise! You're spot on... Only 350 devices to change. Thanks.
Troy
Glad to hear that helped. Jason is spot on... if you don't have SNMP set to v2 or v3, we won't show the device in the list.
Again, thanks. You just saved me a significant amount of headache, most all of 350+ are visible now.
