High Availability Deployment - Web/Hub Server - Hosted in AWS

Looking for information on setting up a HA deployment of our web/hub server that is in AWS.

We have the two servers in place, we have a EC2 based load balancer, with a HTTPS rule to forward to the two web servers, but I am not sure that is what SolarWinds wants.

Has anyone done a deployment like this, and what steps did you use to make this function correctly

Not a ton of feedback which is always disappointing.

We setup HA in aws so far it's not great. we're forced to use the virtual hostname since SolarWinds doesn't support vips in aws. It works but is very slow and the anything assigned to the main Poller will no longer connect once the system moves to the secondary since almost no devices support hostnames for configs.

Something that i worked with recently. If you look into the requirements for HA, Solarwinds does not support Virtual IP if the machine is in cloud. Solarwinds also dont recommend a load balancer to be used with HA but you can ask for the VIP of the load balancer, use your DNS zone, and i used the "other" functionality as the Microsoft DNS or bind wont work in this case.

In case of failure, the Load balancer should be able to decide which server is down and move the traffic to standby server. You can also try force failover once you have the HA pool setup. It worked for me but i could not browse the IP of our load balancer as it wont let you use the webconsole. Its not the recommended way, you may do the microsoft Dns> have a service account created that can make changes to DNS, have your dns ip ready along with DNS zone and boom it works fine but some companies are not willing to let you have a service account that would edit the DNS.
