How to run scripts on Orion using Python

Dear Team,

How to run scripts on Orion GUI using Python? I mean, How to install Python on Orion Server, and how to run these new created scripts then on Orion?

- Is there an integrated way on Orion to write/run scripts and push them directly?

My goal is to create an SSH script using python and then run this script on Orion, so that orion could SSH devices and extract info from each device in external folder.

That sounds essentially like a DIY version of the NCM product. NCM is primarily marketed toward people who want to use SSH to modify configs on network gear, but it can also be used fairly effectively on anything that has SSH available.

Now I will say NCM scripts are not quite as easy to work with as python, assuming you are already strong in python, but its workable for a lot of cases. If you find that you really want to do something that isn't practical in NCM I have done some pretty hackish work arounds in the past where we just wrote external scripts that basically had all their intelligence and logic happen outside Orion and then just leveraged the NCM engine via the API as a place to handle credentials and target lists and such.

Ultimately NCM isn't Ansible or Puppet, but depending what you are trying to achieve it may do the job.

A file-ey protocol would probably be easier than an SSH one, sessions are painful en masse
