Cisco Card CPU Temperature alerts

There is a standard widget that we are using and I'd like to know if there is a way of alerting on the temperature on this widget. It appears to me that the table is built via a formula and looking for the OID doesn't reveal (at least to me) a specific location where I can pull the information.

The reason for this is that we had a card overheat and need replacement. This caused a minor outage and if we could alert on the temperature before this happening we could have avoided the outage.

In this network we need to do this via SNMP rather than traps.

I'm pretty sure you CAN'T alert from or on a widget.

I'd suggest an SNMP Walk, and for my money (free) I'd use a third party tool like Paesslers SNMP Walk Tool.

There is a different option you could pursue. You can build a custom page & tables where temperatures are listed as numbers and numbers change colors when parameters are meant. Someone would need to monitor but you could build a page like that.
