Can Solarwinds use to monitor Azure Firewall? If so does it support an alerting mechanism? Like if a certain threshold reached does it send an alert to concerned team?
Pretty sure NPM can only monitor V-Nets, V-Net Gateways and Site to Site connections. If you have SAM, then I believe you could/should be able to do this. We don't have SAM so I can't 100% confirm that.Alerting is, as ever, based on what you configure. So if you configure a threshold and SOLW is monitoring that and you have a trigger to alert on it being exceeded, then yes it will do that. But you have to do the leg work first to build it.
According to this page https://www.solarwinds.com/solutions/azure-cloud-solutions , It is mentioned that SAM is available. So, may be it is possible to monitor azure firewall ?
I did say that:
But you are asking in the NPM forum so the presumption has to be you wanted to do this with NPM.
What Alert are you trying to get?
You can "monitor" reachability with ICMP, but that probably isn't what you want.
Using Log Analyzer and some other log functions, you can import/read firewall logs and alerts from SolarWinds. You MIGHT be able to create alerts off of those logs. I don't know how to do that though and would need to research that though.
