Is there a way to monitor systemd level processes? I am asking about what happens if a service goes down. If the service goes down then there is no data to alert on. Things like solr, httpd, etc are good examples. Thanks!
Hi @walterwhite are you referring to the process monitoring on the SolarWinds Orion SAM? You can monitor the application as a whole with the SolarWinds Observability in the APM functionality. You have to choose the correct language for the integration.
Hey @walterwhite In addition to @daham_bm 's response, you can monitor the up/down of a particular process on a host with SWO if you're monitoring the host with the Host agent.1. Navigate to Infrastructure2. Find the host entity in question3. Go to the Processes tabFrom here, you can use pre-configured alerts on if the process ever goes down or on the CPU/Memory utilization of that process.
