Greetings all.
My shop runs Orion 2023.3.1 on-prem, with a full suite of modules licensed (NPM, NCM, SAM, VMAN, SRM, others).
I'm researching options for our next upgrade cycle, specifically looking at possibly upgrading to HCO rather than staying with on-prem Orion.
Wondering - does anyone know of a good upgrade guide, like if we want to upgrade our existing Orion system to HCO, and... would really like everything to work after the upgrade (ha-ha)?
Any input from the community would be appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. wow, in fact I would even like to work up a comparison of the money part for our leadership. Like, next year licensing for on-prem Orion is ($$$), next year licensing for HCO with same modules is (hopefully the same or less $$$).
P.P.S. main driver to look at HCO right now is company starting to use Red Hat Openshift (Kubernetes platform). So far we like what we see in AppOptics Kubernetes monitoring.
P.P.P.S I really enjoyed Tony Johnson's article about HCO and the Solarwinds platform from about 18 months ago - especially the teaser about deploying Solarwinds on non-Windows platforms. Feedback to Solarwinds that ideal situation for my org is 2 years from now we are running Solarwinds on Red Hat Openshift (Kubernetes platform).
Cheers.
