Query SQL recovery mode

Hello everyone,

Looking for some help. I am trying to find a way to retrieve the recovery modes of my SQL databases. I cannot seem to find a query to do this within Solarwinds. We are using the Appinsight for SQL but I don't seem to find a way to pull this out into a report.

Any help appreciated.

If you want to filter out certain databases/servers, you edit the data source.

If the fields you want to filter by aren't in the basic dropdown, you can use the Advanced Selector option to find the metric/field.

When it comes to adding the extra fields to the report, when adding the columns you can change the object. 
E.g. if you just want Server Name, Database Name, Recovery Model.

Add the Name and Recovery Model on the default popup (which should be for the AppInsight for SQL: Database object).

Then you change the object to Node, and then select the Caption (or Node Name) from the list.

If you are getting duplicates, you have most likely selected a field from one of the historical tables. The report is then showing all that data (.e.g you may have grabbed site hostname from a historical table is polling every 5 mins so you'll have 12x rows for each object if selecting last hour of data).

Also note that you will only see this data for SQL instances where you have a) assigned the AppInsight for SQL monitor, and b) the monitor has access to read the data from the instance.

So I would appear that Im only seeing the databases of the local Orion server and it also appears to be duplicating the entries judging by ID number. Can you tell me how do incorporate this too look at all my SQL servers? and how do I remove these duplicates or even the reason why these are displaying like that.

Thank you very much. when you say: Filter by server/database/whatever in the source, and you can also add the database name, server name, and any other values from there. How do I do this, its quite new to me so Im trying to work may way though this. I want to display the recivery mode for all servers, and their databases.
