having an issue while adding a Redhat server.

Hello,

We are having an issue while adding a node in SolarWinds. This is a Redhat server and is up and working fine.

When we add it as a node in SolarWinds initially, it reflects as a UP node status, but after 3 minutes, it goes in a DOWN state. This happens every time we try adding this node.

Tried changing the node status polling interval from 120 to 240 seconds but no change. Also, when running the SNMP tests, the results are inconsistent.

Can you please help resolve the issue?

In solarwinds up/down is normally determined by the server answering pings, so the first thing to check is if it does or does not reliably answer pings from your polling engine.

Is this server on a particularly bad network connection? Are there firewalls in the path that could be causing problems?
