Windows clusters monitoring.

Hi All,

We have several Windows clusters that, ideally, we need monitoring. A couple of them have been added as nodes, and 1 or 2 have been picked up by IPAM, but there doesn't appear to be any consistency on whether it finds a cluster. What would the best way be to actively monitor these? They all run off of their own individual IPs.

As a general rule I used to manually add nodes via their cluster ip, and also via their individual ip's and then I would use custom properties to make sure I could differentiate between those.  The reason I monitored both ways was because certain SAM templates make more sense to monitor at the cluster, while others needed to be applied to the individual address. 

If you are trying to pick the devices up during a discovery then the default behavior for Orion is to try to deduplicate nodes if it realized during the discovery that two different IPs are resolving the same system names.  You can turn that off but it can become a real pain in network device discovery to manually avoid duplicates.
