Receiving this error when attempting to add attachments to my case.
I was able to get the issue resolved but the words I received back from Support sounds like there is a bug in the system that needs to be resolved.
I'm working in an air gapped/no internet environment so need to manually generate the license files.
As part of the process I need to obtain my unique machine ID. Being in an off line environment the licenses do not automatically show up in the License Manager. If you click Add License you are given AN INCORRECT MACHINE ID. The ID you are given is something used internally be Solarwinds Support.
Here is the explanation about that as quoted from the ticket.
"The UMID you pulled is called a Generic UMID (4 sets of 0000 at the end of it) and is received by clicking on the Add License button. This UMID is to be used by Customer Service with the licensing on the backend, not via the customer portal. To pull the UMID that will work in the customer portal, Go to SETTINGS >> ALL SETTINGS >> DETAILS >> LICENSE MANAGER. Then click on the box to the left of the license (e.g NPM)) and either activate/upgrade option. That UMID will not have 4 sets of 0000 at the end and will be usable your customer portal so you can complete the manual registration yourself. If you see Orion Scalability Evaluation on your License Manager, please click on the Activate button to the right to gain the UMID for APE manual registration that will work in your customer portal."
I believe that is working from the assumption that you are not in an offline environment and the licenses are showing up and you have check boxed one. That is not the case, as since they haven't been manually added yet they do not exist to check box.
The work around it to check some other license in your system as if you were going to reregister it and get the machine ID from that one and use it.
The one supplied from the Add License button is not actually a code for anything, very misleading in my opinion.
