SCP/SFTP server - interested?

We're working on adding a SCP/SFTP server into Toolset and will have a beta build available shortly. If you're interested/available to participate within the next couple of weeks, please let me know.

Hi machinist - welcome to Thwack.

The SCP/SFTP server currently does not support SSH keys for authentication, but we are looking at implementing it and some other auth methods in the future.

The SolarWinds SCP & SFTP service is now available in Toolset v10.4, which released to the public yesterday.

To download it:

For existing customers with outside connectivity: Open the Workspace Studio, select check for updates, then click on 'Download Update'

For existing customers without connectivity, you can download 10.4 from your customer portal.

For folks just wanting to check it out: download the eval here.

The SCP & SFTP Server enables encrypted transfers and FTP like directory commands over SSH.

Hi, my first post!

I've installed this free software (SCP/SFTP Server) and have a question. Can it be configured to use ssh keys, rather than manually entered passwords? We have a requirement to script an overnight file upload, and it has to use ssh keys.

Manually entering passwords works fine, but this is not a workable option for an automated script.

hi guys i am trying to USE solarwinds SCP Server to copy my IPS config but My IPS applince shows error message

You're correct; IPS appliances require SCP over SSH v1, which is currently unsupported in the SCP server shipped with Toolset 10.4. However, SCP v1 support will be available in the next release of Toolset, which is due out soon.

I am also interested in participating in a BETA release of the SCP server with keys as an optional authentication method.

Just to add my 2p worth. If there is a Beta of the server with public key based authentication I would be keen to try it. I want to use it with my licensed copy of CatTools to backup config files but need a non-interactive file transfer.
