Why my admin account returns empty results when querying the db in SWQL Studio?

Hello,

when I do queries using SWQL studio the results are empty. If I use the local admin it works.

Of course, I have full admin rights on that account. I have updated SWQL with no success.

Is there a way to check the actual rights of the account?

It works before by the way.

Wha is the error that you are getting ?

None! That's the thing, you do a query => you have empty results, you do the same with the local admin account and you have results.

Before what?

Is your account provided access directly or via an AD or SAML group?

May want to query the database (Login to the Primary Polling Engine, and open Database Manager, Add Orion Server, right-click and query the database)

SELECT *
FROM Accounts
WHERE AccountID IN ( 'Admin', 'youraccount' )

That or potentially delete the account, and re-add it.

It is an SAML account. I deleted the account from the DB. The account has a "yes" to everything.

Still not working.

By before I meant before having the problem.

Are you sure you used SAML account to connect to SWQL studio ? Not the certificate ?

I am using the first one of the list. I can't input my credentials if I select "Orion (v3) AD"

This option pulls from windows, so which ever account you used to login is passed to SolarWinds

I don't think you can log in using SAML creds to SWQL studio, there is no way to do the assertion (I think that's the right term?). I think the first choice in the dropdowns is strictly for local accounts? The easiest way I've found to log in to SWQL studio is to add an AD account and use the Orion [v3] AD account...

At least I've never found a way to log in using SAML to SWQL Studio...
