There appears to be a stats collection that occurs twice a day - Midnight and Noon to collect stats from ESX hosts. It is spiking our CPU for about 15 minutes on those hosts. We want to change the time that collection happens or figure out why its occuring. Has anyone else dealt with this issue and how did you deal with it?
Hello All, I'm trying to create an alert to monitor ESXI host temperature when it exceeds, lets say 80F. I have both vman and SAM, does anyone have an idea how to accomplish this task? thank you for you assistance.
We have 2 vcenters at 2 different location being monitored by Solarwinds. We have various VMs in use at both sites. Site B is also the failover for the production environment so it has a bunch of placeholder VMs. The placeholder VMs get picked up by Solarwinds as "Down" machines which is not true. Whats the best way to…
We've been having issues with polling Hyper-V hosts with VMAN over the past year. After a couple of SR's with support we were advised to upgrade to 2022.3 (which was still pre-release at that point). We finally did that recently (actually 2022.4) but I had to manually hit the 'poll now' link for each host before they…
A wealth of information present in the Hyper-V performance counters does not appear to be polled by VMan currently; Some very specific examples are Hyper-V Hypervisor Root Virtual Processor \ %Remote Run Time CPU Wait Time Per Dispatch Remote Runtime being a counter showing the time a vCPU access resources in another numa…
New to SolarWinds. Running VMAN, NCM, NPM, all on version 2023.3.0. When I go to Manage Nodes and then open the LIST RESOURCES menu for a specific VM it shows all of the resources with checkboxes. I assume that unchecking the box for specific drives would remove them from the monitoring service. However, I have a VM with a…
Hello, I am trying to setup a report that will let us know if we have any old AWS snapshots on EBS volumes. I have the report page copying the Old VMs Snapshot report but am running into issues trying to query. I don't believe the dynamic builder will work in this situation (if it can, I cannot figure out the correct…
We use VMAN in our environment and it seems to be the case that we have some unknown amount of VMAN nodes. My understanding is the polling is somewhat limited vs Orion polling. As far as our VMs go, 99% are either Windows servers or Linux servers where we have the ability to install the agent. I would like to better…
Based on a reply from @jm_Sysadmin in another thread I decided to see if I could this working for me and made some amendments along the way. This has been working great for me. Hopefully it can help someone else. It requires a Custom Property called: "LastBackedUp" Also, using the below to store your credentials securely.…
We are coming up to our 100% utilization for licensed socket count in VMAN. Management are working to see what our growth will be in the near future but want to know what happens if we go over or attempt to go over 100% socket count? Anyone ever done it?
