We're running into an issue where it seems the data from VMAN isn't updating since we had an HA failover a few days ago. Here's what we have... * The Virtualization polling settings shows the vCenter server and all hosts with a polling status of "polling" and a green check. Sounds good, but... * The vCenter Details page…
Hi All I have been asked the question by our virtualisation team "If we switch on DPM (Distributed Power Management) within VMWare how will Solarwinds Deal with it?" At present we have not purchased Virtualisation manager, but are looking at the possibility, so the question is, if an esx host is put into standby by DPM…
Hey all, SolarWinds used to offer an NFR license for Virtualization Manager via this link, which is unfortunately 404'd now: http://info.solarwinds.com/virtualization_manager_nfr A reference for this can still be found on the original (admittedly old) press release: SolarWinds Offers Free Virtualization Management Software…
We are trying to obtain the following VDI stats in solarwinds. I am not a VMware guy. I cross posted something similar in SAM. 1. number VDI users supported 24 hours (no duplicates) 2. Maximum concurrent users in 24 hours (no duplicates) 3. The number of VDI users in a disconnected state. 4. total users involuntarily…
Orion Platform 2018.4 HF3, NPM 12.4, SAM 6.8.0 We've got a bunch of nodes that all have blinking yellow boxen on their green status icons, and "Node status is Up, One or more thresholds are exceeded.." [sic] in the status column of Manage Nodes. For the life of me, I have no idea why. Some are Hyper-V hosts - when I go…
Hi All, Noticed this yesterday, is it an issue. Running: VMAN 8.5.0 HF2 [dbo].[VirtualMachines] has a column SnapshotSummaryCount It appears that this value can be 0 for a VM, but a snapshot reference/s can still exist in [dbo].[VIM_Snapshots]. We tested this, deleted a VM's only snapshot, the reference to the snapshot…
Hi guys, We're running Virtualization manager v. 7.1.0.1536 and I'm completely new in this. Now I have a question. I have an Environment map and there I can see all my infrastructure - clusters, hosts and VMs. As far as I understand when new VM is created I'll see it in this map. So the question is - is it possible somehow…
Hello, I was wondering if the following would be possible to accomplish with VMAN. We would like to dynamically add little bit of space to a VM volume if it reaches certain size or percentage. Is that doable? This would be for Windows Server. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
Using NPM 12.3 HF5 and VMM 8.2.1 integrated (not stand alone appliance). We have 200 VDI windows 7 machines we wish to monitor for disk space. I have been doing this with powerCLI but I wish to move everything like this into SolarWinds for NOC views and centralized alerting. We do not wish to add these as nodes or use SAM…
Is it possible to restrict access to certain vCenters by account group? When our users log in and have access to VMAN, they have access to all vCenters. Thanks!
