Patch Manager makes inquiries to wsus or microsoft to know if a patch is missing or not, because it usually happens that wsus does not manage to download all the updates and if PM takes the wsus information, PM would not be validating certain patches not downloaded.

Dies anybody know if there's any intention of deploying Office 365 C2R installations using Patch Manager? I know WSUS won't deploy the Office updates, SCCM is supposed to but using Patch Manager would be the simplest if it is going to support updates. Thanks. Dan
I am testing disabling TLS 1.0 on my computer where I run Patch Manager. I think it broke some patch downloads. For example, both the GOogle CHrome and the Wireshark downloads failed (Something about a closed connection).
