  • Chris, That demo was great having the ability to nest the IP Groups and report on group to group will be exactly what we need. Appreciate your help with tht. Z.
  • NAT is something we would rather stay away from if we can but I know that may not be possible in the long term. Good point though. I also like the idea of polling over the VPN rather than having a distributed Orion as some of our customers will be small so the cost of having separate servers for management would kill the…
  • Chris, That sounds perfect - look forward to trying it out when it's available. Thanks for all your help with this request. This is my first real experience with Orion and Solarwinds and I have to say it's all very positive. Z.
  • ET, I am relatively new to orion and especially the Report Writer but I think from your suggestion and some jiggerypockery I have a report I may be able to use for the Business. Thanks, Z.
  • Brandon, Thanks for the link to KB - I have passed it over to our server team and see what they come back with. I read somewhere that you need v9.5 to install SP4 so can I not go direct from v9.1 Sp4 to v9.5 SP4? I am working on some NTA demo with Chris and may wait the outcome on that before upgrading anyway. Really…
  • Hi, Just a quick question about setting up a NOC and using Orion to monitor it all. Are you monitoring your own corporate networks or multiple 3rd party networks? We are looking to manage remote company sites that are not ours and wondered the best way of doing that using a central management station for all of the sites…
  • Chris, I am happy to help where I can. I am in the UK so there is the time difference to work on there. Here is an example of what we would like to be able to do with NTA IP groups: IP Group Network-A-1 Network-A-2 Network-A-3 Network-B-1 Network-B-2 Network-B-3 Network-B-4 Network-C-1 Network-C-2 Network-C-3 Then group…
  • We are looking at doing an IP range to IP range traffic report across an MPLS network so we can do site-2-site analysis which currently is all bundled up in our Riverbed reports. Maybe I am missing something easy here but is the same request? Z
  • Roger, That does sound of interest. It's a shame the colours can't be on a per user basis as not everyone needs to have them changed - darker reds and lighter greens might work though. I appreciate your time/help with this request. Z.
  • Brandon, Hi thanks for the quick response. We are currently running SQL on Windows 2005 server: Catalog NetPerfMon Database Engine Microsoft SQL Server SQL Version Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 9.00.4035.00 (X64) Nov 24 2008 16:17:31 Copyright (c) 1988-2005 Microsoft Corporation Enterprise Edition (64-bit) on Windows NT 5.2…
  • Chris, No problem I appreciate your help with this. We have a small WAN over MPLS so we would like to be able to do site to site usage statisics especially when we have 1000's of new users at a site creating WAN traffic on top of what we already have. This will help with capacity planning, QoS, local servers, or other…
  • OK thanks for the quick response.... I hope yet isn't too far away :) Z.
  • Brian, Thanks i should have been more specific it is LAN switch links. As we can't afford to buy more licences it was all I could think of as it can save nearly have of what they were originally monitoring on the LAN. I have pointed out that if we need specific monitoring it can be done for things like you mentioned.…
