Yes, that's true. Why not get all the IP addresses already defined and verified in NPM and APM appears in IPAM automatically. If there is a link between NPM devices and IPAM addresses, we will be able to identify devices with multiple addresses (e.g. routers and L3 switches)

A warning message with option to proceed or not is good enough for me. I understand there are use cases for creating duplicate subnets. In your example, customer ID and IP address should be unique key then different customers can have duplicate addresses while all IP addresses are unique for each customer. Thanks

Yes, I would like to beta test the new version.

It is so true that you can create duplicate subnets now. A report that can show duplicate subnets would be nice. The tool also too focusing on IP address only and ignore the important of managing subnets as well. As IP management tool, it is equally important to be able to manage subnet assignment and reporting too. It…

I am interested to be able to select import device based on custom property as well. Instead of pulling in all the nodes from NPM, I would only be interested to see devices only relevant to NCM. Also is it possible to update with fixed attribute? i.e. For SSH device, set EXEC_COMMAND to SSH or set device template to…

I tried your suggestion and export a subnet. It dumps the ip addresses with in the subnet but there is no information about the subnet itself. When I import the same file back, it won't create the subnet and the description, VLAN, location, etc.. information for each subnet are lost during the export and import. Yes, you…

How about function to join and split subnets? i.e. joing two /29 subnets to form a /28 subnet or splitting a /16 to 256 class C Another function is nice to have is the ability to cross check a large number of subnets with existing assignment to report conflict. It is a very common function for merger and acquisition when…

I have the same problem. After I kill the job, it is running fine for a while and then the problem return. I am also having the DB running on an separate SQL2005 server. NCM version is 6.0.

What do you mean by "Multiple Config Types"? If you means support for multiple contexts (Cisco ACE, ASA and FWSM), I will be eager to see that. There might be workaround available, however it is not native and actually a lot of work to setup for each contexts per device. We are using context extensively and it is not quite…

I agree that allowing creation of duplicate subnets and IP's deficit the purpose of an IP management tool. It makes more sense if you can create different customers (or areas/planets/sites/...etc) and allow duplicate subnets only if it is for a different customer.

Do we have a NCM team that can help?
