• You could create a monitor with SQL Server User Experience Monitor and run a basic select state,name from sys.databases where name = "db_name". That will get your current state and name of the db.

• the endpoints reference the column 'AgentGuid' in the AgentManagement_Agents table in your Solarwinds DB. I am experiencing the same issue with Netpath and Discovery pings failing.
